Men

Speaking of men, a 20-year-old man hacks another man’s voting record and changes the voter’s address. The victim is male, Florida’s Governor Ron Desantis. Here’s the story: “Gov. Ron DeSantis had trouble voting. A 20-year-old Florida man is to blame, police say,” https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/10/29/florida-man-desantis-voting-address/. So, is this the secure voting system the governor has promised Florida? Imagine how other voters responded if and when they went to vote and didn’t have the authority of the governor to straighten out a similar hacking.  Do we know or will we know how many address foul ups there were and if they kept people from voting?

Let’s talk about men as healthcare workers who are COVID victims. Here’s a summary from Global Health Now, a publication of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health: “Health Workers Hit Hard, Early,” https://www.globalhealthnow.org/2020-10/health-workers-hit-hard-early:
“Across 13 states from March–May, ~6% of people hospitalized with COVID-19 were health workers:

• 36.3% of them were nurses.
• Over 67% had direct patient contact.
• 72% were female.
• Over 50% were Black, NBC reports.
• 89.9% had an underlying health condition.”

And here’s the study published by the CDC: “COVID-19–Associated Hospitalizations Among Health Care Personnel — COVID-NET, 13 States, March 1–May 31, 2020,” https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm6943e3.htm.   We want to note that of the 438 nurses in this study of hospitalized healthcare workers, 131 were men.

As for our election forecast, we expect the winners will be mostly males and many of them over 70.
