Global Interdependence CenterGIC saw a great start to the new year with programs in Philadelphia, Sarasota, and our first event in San Diego, as well as conferences in Singapore and Madrid. We welcomed an impressive lineup of speakers to discuss topics such as Chinese direct investment, financial technology, monetary policy, and the economic outlook for Europe, China and the US.

The programs were covered by news outlets in the US and abroad, and interviews with our speakers were featured on TV, radio, and in print. News coverage of GIC programs and speakers is available at www.interdependence.org.

We invite you to watch the interview of Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago President Evans by Bloomberg’s International Economics and Policy Correspondent Michael McKee at GIC’s recent Central Banking Series program in Madrid, held in partnership with the Rafael del Pino Foundation and BBVA.

The interview took place before President Evans spoke to an assembled audience of over 300 on a panel titled “Monetary Policy in a New Economic Environment.” Fellow panelists included Jaime Caruana, General Manager of the Bank for International Settlements, José M. González-Páramo, Executive Board member of BBVA, and Peter Praet, Member of the Executive Board at the European Central Bank.

GIC was also pleased to welcome a group of MBA students from Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business who joined the group in Madrid for an exceptional networking and educational experience.

Each program in the U.S. and abroad boasted an impressive roster of economists, researchers, and business leaders from around the world. We invite you to explore the resources from each event below.
