The first Rocky Mountain Economic Summit was a small group of businessmen and investors who assembled “down the hill” from Trout Ranch and talked about issues they confronted. They were a part of the Bronze Buffalo Club. I wasn’t there.
The second one featured Bill Poole, past president of the St. Louis Fed; John Silvia, now of Wells Fargo; and me. We convened in the Afton, Wyoming, community center. Justin Hyde and Tyler Norton had made the arrangements, and as the program chair of the Global Interdependence Center (GIC), I introduced the idea of partnering together for a conference.
The third Rocky Mountain Economic Summit was held in Jackson Hole and filled a room in the community’s performing arts center. This year the event is being held at the Teton Springs Lodge & Spa in Victor, Idaho.
This year’s is the 10th annual Summit, and the Bronze Buffalo Foundation and the GIC are partnering again. Details are available here: https://www.interdependence.org/events/browse/tenth-annual-rocky-mountain-economic-summit/?mc_cid=bd31d8a48f&mc_eid=b81a830df4. Featured speakers are Patrick Harker, president of the Philly Fed, and Paul McCulley, who is a longtime friend from PIMCO days, a former GIC leader, and a fishing buddy from the old days. Paul and I have a lot of catching up to do.
The whole day and a half program (including Chatham House roundtable) is below. But let me point out an item for those who missed the opportunity to attend the Sarasota Financial Literacy Day on April 5.
We are going to repeat and expand the panel on stock market technical analysis and the uses of quantitative methods. The panel will be moderated by yours truly, and the three featured speakers are experienced professional practitioners. They are:
• Katie Stockton, Founder and Managing Partner, Fairlead Strategies, LLC
• Leo Chen, Professor of Math at USF and Quantitative Analyst and Portfolio Manager, Cumberland Advisors
• Alison Gardner, Senior Vice President, RBC Wealth Management
Our discussion plan is to examine hands-on applications of quant and technical analysis that may benefit the audience. This session will repeat and expand the one held in Sarasota.
Here is the full program. The public is invited. Any GIC member is welcome at the roundtable, and the roundtable admission is included in the registration price. Again, the link for more information and to register is https://www.interdependence.org/events/browse/tenth-annual-rocky-mountain-economic-summit/?mc_cid=bd31d8a48f&mc_eid=b81a830df4.
