The University of South Florida College of Nursing will soon launch a program to address the growing nursing shortage and focus on retaining the current nursing workforce.

USF's College of Nursing will launch the "Excellence in Nursing During Covid-19 and Beyond" in conjunction with Sarasota Memorial Health Care System in the spring after receiving a number of philanthropic donations for a pilot program.

The project is possible due to a $115,000 donation from David Kotok and Christine Schlesinger, along with a $25,000 grant from Gulf Coast Community Foundation and private gifts and grants from the USF Foundation.
