Matthew C. McAleer
President & Director of Private Wealth
Matthew C. McAleer serves as the President & Director of Private Wealth. He is also a member of Cumberland’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Matt is also the Chairman of the firm’s Investment Committee and has over 25 years of investment management experience.
Matt is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Cumberland Advisors’ equity group, including portfolio management, research, and trading. With a focus on quantitative research, Matt uses detailed trend, price, and relative strength analysis to manage portfolio construction and to identify investment opportunities across multiple asset classes. Prior to joining Cumberland Advisors in April 2014, Matt was a portfolio manager at Hudson Canyon Investment Counselors and Classic Asset Management. He earned a B.S. degree in marketing/economics from Rider University. Matt holds a certificate in Investment Management Theory & Practice from the Yale School of Management Executive Education program.
