- Rip higher into last month's earnings created a higher hurdle for stocks
- Quiet markets set equities up for a natural pullback
- Will this August be a replay of August 2022?
- Nice recovery performance in value vs growth

Shaun Burgess - Fixed Income

- Yields moved higher off Fitch downgrade of U.S. credit rating
- Additional pressure on yields due to upcoming issuances from U.S. Treasury
- Munis held up better, getting support from their retail individual buyers
- Defensive sectors not yet strong enough to truly signal severe credit issues
